The President of Georgia visited Anaklia and familiarized himself with construction details of a grandiose hotel which will be built by an Indian investment. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke about the importance of this project and noted that Anaklia is exactly the place where such infrastructure should be developed. According to him, the construction of Lazika has already begun and Anaklia will be its extension where there will be 11 hotels in the next few years.

“This time we have the first international investments of our tourism sector in Lazika. There will be 6 new hotels in the Anaklia-Lazika zone basically by the end of next year. Indian investors are building this hotel very rapidly and with very high quality. This is the best project I have seen across the world. I imagined something like this being here when we were developing this place: cottages, swimming pools like in Thailand, Dubai and similar places. The climate and the place exactly correspond to the project they have introduced. Several hundred people will be employed here, and the investor will buy local production. Most probably Georgian tourists will rest here because this is being developed as a local resort. We are working on 5 out of 6 hotels that are under construction. 11 hotels are being constructed on the first stage of development of the Anaklia-Lazika area. 3 hotels are already open and functioning. By the way, they are always full even now, when the season is about to end, and this makes me very happy. Nobody believed that anything would be built here, but our projects are gradually strengthening.” – stated Mikheil Saakashvili.

Aside from the 54 room hotel, the complex will have 98 cottages, floating and luxury villas, a lagoon type artificial lake, swimming pools, and courts.  The complex will also have a spa center, discos, and casinos, as well as a business center and a conference hall.
