The President of Georgia gave the Minister of Internal Affairs the highest state decoration

On May 6, during the parade in the named for Police Day, the President of Georgia decorated the Minister of Internal Affairs with the highest state decoration – the Victory Order of St. George for his special contribution in transforming the Georgian police. The President once again drew attention to the importance of the reforms implemented in the police system and namely, the merit of the Minister in this important endeavor.

“Several dozen of Georgian policemen are going to be decorated today with various orders. But before that, I on behalf of all of us, I would like to thank the Minister of Internal Affairs Ivane Merabilshvili, who has played a decisive role in transforming the Georgian police into its current form. I want to decorate him with the Victory Order of St. Georgia on your behalf” – noted the President.

The decoration ceremony was held in Gori, during the parade in the name of the Police Day.
