The President of Georgia: There are times for scattering stones and times for gathering them – we are currently on the stage of gathering them

Mikheil Saakashvili visited the contemporary art museum that was opened today. The President of Georgia toured the new exhibition center with the Mayor of Tbilisi, Gigi Ugulava and a famous Georgian painter Zurab Tsereteli. Based on the assessment by the Head of State, the new museum complex complies with world standards. He added that it is also planned to open such modern and high quality exhibition centers in the future. The President thanked the artist for this important initiative.

“This is an important event in the cultural life of Georgia. We opened the Blue Gallery within the past year, which was practically rebuilt. We opened the new, renovated building of the national museum. We are also working on other museums, which will be opened on this street. The new art center is similar to those we have seen in Europe. I am grateful to Mr. Zurab. Today’s event is  proof of the fact that our homeland-Georgia is the best place for every Georgian to be valued the most. We call on every Georgian who is living in Russia and other countries to return to Georgia. And I don’t only mean the artists living abroad; the doctors as well. I would like them to return to Georgia and work at the new hospitals. I also call on engineers to return to Georgia and work at our new technological centers… There are times for scattering stones and times for gathering them – we are currently on the stage of gathering them” – stated Mikheil Saakashvili.

While assessing the work of Zurab Tsereteli, the President of the country once again noted the importance of the monuments that he has created for Georgia. He specially underscored the importance of the “Saint George” monument at Liberty Square of Tbilisi.
