The President of Georgia visited the Martvili Medical Center today, which was built within the scope of the hospital sector development program by the insurance company “Aldagi BCI” and the company “Block Georgia”. The Head of State visited the first patients and brought them presents. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke with the personnel about the accessibility of medical care and importance of medical insurance. He also expressed interest in the current hospital conditions and received information from the medical personnel and patients. They explained to the President that the hospital has the best conditions and a lot more people are getting medical care than before.
Mikheil Saakashvili also met with the local residents and addressed them. The President focused attention on the changes that have occurred in Georgia in the recent years. According to him, opening new schools, hospitals, and other facilities serves the idea of equality so that our society has a chance to get the best education, healthcare, and service. As the President noted, everything is being done in the name of people and for the people in Georgia. That is why one of the most important priorities of the government is to create the highest quality healthcare system, which will be equally accessible for everyone.
Mikheil Saakashvil also spoke about development of Poti, Zugdidi, and Anaklia and stated that rehabilitation of these cities will help create additional jobs.
The Martvili hospital has the newest technology and it fully complies with international standards. The insurance company “Aldagi BCI” and the company “Block Georgia” have invested 2 million GEL in the project. The new medical center, which has 15 beds, employs 70 highly qualified specialists providing pre-hospital, hospital, and ambulatory care for the local population.
