The President of Georgia visited Anaklia for a few hours before the end of the year. Mikheil Saakashvili toured a new five star hotel of European standards – “Palm Beach” and a 600 meter pedestrian bridge.

The Head of State spoke about development of the sea coast town and noted that the construction is proceeding at a very fast rate there. According to the President, the place that was covered with swamps 2 years ago, now has 3 five star hotels. He added that there will be two more added next summer. Mikheil Saakashvili also noted that there will be an Aqua Park in Anaklia in 2012. The Head of State drew attention to the Black Sea coast climate and noted that Georgian sea resorts are equivalent to those of Mexico, Egypt, and other famous resort areas of the world.

“This is the third five star hotel in Anaklia. We will add two more next summer. There will also be an Aqua Park here. We will have 5 five star hotels in Anaklia in 2012 where there was nothing more than a swamp 2 years ago. We have unique opportunities. I was in Batumi yesterday and the entire day was sunny. Snow skiing is a 45 minute drive from there. This means that there is a great combination of everything in one area” – noted the President of Georgia.
