The President of Georgia met with the local authorities in Guria and introduced the rehabilitation plan for the region to them. Mikheil Saakashvili named 2012 as the year of rehabilitating Guria while talking about the projects that are going to be implemented. He gave specific orders to the representatives of the regional administration while noting that the first results should be evident in approximately 6 months. He also introduced the new initiative to the local authorities, based on which a Presidential Foundation of Rehabilitating Guria will be created. The Foundation will provide for development of new projects, infrastructure and tourism as well as professional retraining and a social system.
