The President of Georgia met with the newly elected President of Kyrgyzstan – Almazbek Atambayev

The President of Georgia met with the newly elected President of Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek today. Mikheil Saakashvili and Almazbek Atambayev spoke about deepening relations between the two countries, developing tourism as well as economic projects, including the possibility of investments. Mikheil Saakashvili wished the colleague luck and noted that the experience of Georgia has become exemplary for many countries. It was decided during the meeting that a government delegation from Kyrgyzstan will arrive in Georgia soon in order to learn about the successfully implemented Georgian reforms.

“You have a very interesting road to travel. You will avoid many mistakes with the help of the experience of our country” – noted Mikheil Saakashvili while talking with his colleague.

In his turn, Almazbek Atambayev thanked Mikheil Saakashvili for visiting and drew attention to the achievements of Georgia. According to him, despite the fact that the representatives of the government of Kirgizstan have already been to Georgia, it is imperative to not only continue but to deepen relations as well.

“Our friends that have visited your country are impressed by your success. I would like to achieve the same in my country” – he told the President of Georgia.

While talking with Mikheil Saakashvili, Almazbek Atambayev drew attention to the book “Why Georgia Achieved It” (“Почему у Грузии получилось”) written by a Russian author – Larisa Burakova and noted that it had a big impression on him.

Today the President of Georgia also attended an official reception in the name of the President of Kyrgyzstan, along with leaders of various countries.
