The President of Georgia began his visit to the Kyrgyz Republic. Mikheil Saakashvili arrived in Bishkek as a result of an invitation to attend the inaugural ceremony for the newly elected President – Almazbek Atambayev.
While visiting Bishkek, the President of Georgia met with the acting President of Kyrgyzstan – Roza Otunbaeva. The sides discussed the importance of democratically held elections in the country. The meeting took place within the scope of the official dinner held at the state residence of Kyrgyzstan.
“It is a great honor for me to meet you once again. You are a real legend and not only in this region. Tomorrow will truly be a historic day. Everyone is observing this process. You have done an incredible thing” – noted the President of Georgia.
In her turn, Roza Otunbayeva, who held the last meeting in the capacity of President with the leader of Georgia, expressed hope that the relations between the two countries will deepen even more.
The inauguration of the newly elected President will be attended by various regional leaders, officials, and representative delegations.
