Mikheil Saakashvili met with the teachers of Gldani Public Schools at the Teachers House

The President of Georgia met with the teachers of Gldani Public Schools at Teachers House. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke with them about the reforms implemented in the education sphere and the initiatives and projects which the government of Georgia is working towards.

The President of Georgia spoke about the importance of retraining people. He introduced a new initiative to the teachers, a new retraining center in Gldani, where people will have a chance to learn new professions. According to Mikheil Saakashvili, he will personally manage the center and will actively participate in its work. Mikheil Saakashvili listened to the advice of the teachers regarding education disciplines. According to the President of Georgia, unemployment remains the main problem in the country and learning new professions will help people find jobs.

During his speech, Mikheil Saakashvili also focused on the issue of raising qualifications of teachers. As the President stated, the teachers of chemistry, biology, mathematics and physics, who will take the test in these subjects will have 75 GEL added to their salary. The President considers developing technical subjects very important and encourages students to continue education in this direction.  The government has a special incentive program for them.

The Head of State also mentioned the issue of renovating schools in the country. According to him, the renovation of Gldani schools will begin this year because the issue of infrastructure in the schools of this district must finally be resolved.

Mikheil Saakashvili also spoke about rebuilding the country and noted that people of every age should be involved in this process. The President also focused attention on the necessity of developing the suburbs of Tbilisi and stated that every district should be as well renovated as the Agmashenebeli Avenue and the Rike area.
