The President of Georgia met with members of the family of Neshan Minesian today. As Mikheil Saakashvili stated, he was closely following the grand jury process investigating the murder that happened 17 years ago.
“A huge tragedy happened years ago, when members of your family were killed. But justice has been served. This was the first process with the participation of grand jury. We were very nervous because we considered the right outcome of this process to be very important. Yesterday was a historic day, because despite the fact that two grand jury members were against the verdict, the majority acknowledged the murderer as guilty. This was a matter of justice and the people that treated the members of your family so brutally should not have been left unpunished. Some of them are not alive today, but the other has already been tried. For me, this means that the truth always wins. The truth was on your side and I was sure of this” – noted Mikheil Saakashvili
The guests thanked the President for his attention and noted that after 17 years they again have hope. They also expressed desire to come back to the new Georgia.
