The “Center for Law and Democracy” – Georgia is among the world leaders

Georgia was ranked second most successful among 80 countries studied by an influential Canadian Organization – the “Center for Law and Democracy.” In terms of the availability of information on the state budget, Georgia has the highest rating after New Zealand.

6 different types of information were requested from state structures of 80 different countries within the scope of the “The Ask Your Government 6 Questions Campaign.”  The rating was based on the length of time needed to obtain the information, the quality of information as well as other criteria according to which Georgia surpassed many developed countries and assumed second place after New Zealand. According to the rules of the study, the public information had to be obtained within 62 calendar days. In the case of Georgia it was made available in 11 days. Based on the rules of the study and those of the Canadian organization, none of the countries had prior information that the study was to be administered.
