Mikheil Saakashvili met with the public officials at the Presidential Palace today and discussed the result of the study of the Center of Democracy and Law, according to which Georgia was named as one of the most successful among 80 countries. The President focused on the reforms implemented in Georgia in the recent years and thanked the public officials for their hard work.
“Georgia has the second most effective and transparent state structure in the world, after New Zealand. This study was administered in 80 countries and based on its results France, Germany and Japan are below us in the ratings, not to mention Russia and its friends - Venezuela and Nicaragua, which are somewhere at the bottom. I want to note that our rating and success is the result of the specific reforms that we have been implementing together. Your work is the reason I am proud of every one of you. Think about where we were 6 years ago and where are we today” – noted the Head of State.
During his speech, the President talked about the simplified and fast service, which the people can enjoy in Georgia. In spite of the achieved successes, Mikheil Saakashvili called each of the public officials for working harder, advancing, and growing professionally.
“I have summoned you today to tell you that working to keep these results means stopping the development and turning into sough. The only way to move forward is the constant reforms and advancing in this direction. Of course our people are the main reason of these reforms and everything is being done for them. There is an economic crisis everywhere and after reviewing the growth rates, we are the only country the economy of which is predicted to grow by approximately 7% this year. Our indicator will rise against the world trends. The reality is as follows: the Economic situation around us is very tense, but why are we still growing with all of this in our background? Because we gained the experience in competitive conditions in the right moment – what others do not have” – noted Mikheil Saakashvili during the meeting.
According to the results of the study of the Center of Democracy and Law, Georgia was named as one of the most successful among 80 countries inspected. The above-mentioned studies have shown that after New Zealand, Georgia is on the second place in the world in terms of receiving information and budget spending transparency.
“Ask your government 6 questions” – is the name of the study, within the scope of which international organizations check the availability of various kinds of information in the state structures. According to the rules of the study, the information must have been obtained in 62 calendar days, but in the case of Georgia it happened in 11 days. None of the state structures were informed about the existence of the study. The time needed to acquire information, the quality of information and several other criteria have been used to organize the ratings of the study. As a result of the study of a Canadian organization, Georgia outranked many developed countries and assumed the second place after New Zealand. The study was simultaneously administered by several international organizations.
