The President of Georgia met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia

The meeting of the President of Georgia – Mikheil Saakashvili and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia – Urmas Paet was held today. The sides discussed the prospects regarding the integration of Georgia into the Euro-Atlantic structures as well as regional issues and the importance of Estonian support for Georgia in international organizations. The successfully implemented reforms were also among the topics of discussion during the meeting.

On his part, Urmas Paet expressed open support of the territorial integrity of Georgia and noted that Estonia will always be an active supporter of the democratic processes that are taking place in the country. The President of Georgia once again thanked him for the support of the Estonian people and the positive statements that the Head of the Estonian state has made to many international tribunes.

“First of all, I would like to thank your President, who openly supported the territorial integrity of Georgia in the UN tribune. Estonia is a comrade in arms of Georgia, a friend and our constant supporter in the international arena” – stated Mikheil Saakashvili and noted that Estonia has already expressed interest in the successful reforms of Georgia. The country has sent a delegation to share the Georgian experience.

“We have implemented reforms and our country is in first place in terms of doing business, however there is still a lot to do” – noted the President of Georgia at the end of the meeting.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia – Urmas Paet arrived in Georgia on a two day official visit.
