Mikheil Saakashvili continues official meetings in New York

The President of Georgia continues bilateral meetings in New York. Mikheil Saakashvili met with the President of Lithuania - Dalia Grybauskaite. The Presidents talked about simplifying the visa process. As Dalia Grybauskaite noted, the majority of the European countries supports the integration of Georgia into the European structures, and she hopes that this issue will be decided positively. During the meeting, the President of Lithuania presented her Georgian colleague with the Europe Economic Partnership Project, which will assist in strengthening relations between the two countries in this regard. The two leaders also discussed the issue of free trade with Europe. Dalia Graybauskaite once again noted that Lithuania supports the integration of Georgia into European structures and that she will reaffirm this point at the Warsaw Summit. According to her, the prospect of Georgia is clear and in this sense the President of Lithuania expressed hope that this year will be a great step forward for Georgia.  

The President of Georgia also held a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan. During the meeting Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed interest in the recent constitutional reforms in Georgia. Mikheil Saakashvili explained to his Kazakh colleague that Georgia is going to adopt a parliamentary governing system giving the country a strong parliament along with a strong government. The leaders noted that the cordial business relations between the two countries will continue and become even more cooperative in the future. The Presidents of Georgia and Kazakhstan also touched on the issue of a future economic partnership.
