The President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili along with the first lady of Georgia, Sandra Roelofs attended the game between the national basketball teams of Georgia and Belgium. Mikheil Saakashvili arrived at the Svyturio Arena with his family in order to back the Georgian basketball players during one of the games of the 2011 European Championship. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Audronius Azubalis, personally hosted the President of Georgia. The first Minister of Lithuania supported the Georgian national team during the entire game together with the President of Georgia and Georgian fans. After their successful match, Mikheil Saakashvili personally congratulated the players on a dignified victory and wished them luck in the future.
The game ended with a 22 point spread in favor of the Georgian players (81:59).
Mikheil Saakashvili later attended several events of the"Georgian Days" on the Street of Georgia in Klaipeda, Lithuania. The President of Georgia met with Georgian fans, the local population and tourists from various countries. During the events of "Georgian Days", elements of Georgian culture- national folklore, dances, Georgian kitchen and traditional handmade accessories are exibited.
