The President of Georgia visited the ongoing works on the highway

The President of Georgia visited the ongoing works on the 15 km highway connecting Sveneti-Ruisi. Mikheil Saakashvili saw the 800-meter tunnel and participated in the process of cutting as well. He was driving special technique by the help of which he broke the last wall of the tunnel. The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Ramaz Nikolaishvili was together with the President as well. The President of Georgia also visited 871-meter highway the construction ofwhichis still in the process. Ramaz Nikolaishvili stated that Sveneti-Ruisi is the most challenging part of the highway, because the construction of tunnel and highway goes on simultaneously and the roads get paved as well. 

Mikheil Saakashvili also went one more part of the highway - leisure point and visited the ongoing works there. Company Wissol is doing the works. The head of the company noted that the works already finished and the lining had already started. Multi-functional complex will be located at leisure point with petroleum stations and car repair shops, dinning facility, supermarket "Smart" and a parking lot. It is also important that quite a large corner is envisaged for the local farmers where they will be able to sell agricultural products. Right now 100 persons are employed at the above-mentioned point.
