The President of Georgia congratulated Azerbaijan with the victory achieved in Eurovision Song Contest and thanked all those countries that voted for Georgia. As Mikheil Saakashvili noted this contest indeed reflects the relationship that was formed between Georgia and many other countries during the recent years.

"I would like to congratulate Azerbaijan with the victory gained in Eurovision Song Contest. By the way I have called Ilkham Aliev personally this morning and congratulated him with the victory. Bravo! This victory indeed reflects the way Azerbaijan went through during last several years. I must say that Eurovision is a contest where countries give us points according to the existing relationship between the nations. Lithuania always gives us 12 points and I am very thankful for it. Lithuania is our brotherly nation and we all are grateful for them, but yesterday Belorussia and Ukraine gave us highest points. I want to thank them because this brightly reflects their warm attitude towards Georgia that was formed and got more intensive during these recent years. We have very solid relationships in every sphere and we are developing these relations more and more between our nations. When Georgia was in the greatest hardship these nations supported us. Yesterday's vote was one more small, but very considerable expression of this support", Mikheil Saakashvili noted.
