The Presidents of Georgia and Lithuania toured Old Tbilisi streets

The President of Georgia took his Lithuanian counterpart on a tour to Old Tbilisi. Two Presidents visited a square and a tower located on Shavteli Street near the Puppet Theatre. Famous Georgian artists Gia Kancheli and Rezo Gabriadze met them near the theatre. Mikheil Saakashvili personally presented them to the President of Lithuania. Dalia Grybauskaitė saw the Puppet Theatre as well. Later the Presidents moved to Shardeni Street. During a tour Mikheil Saakashvili showed Dalia Grybauskaitė old rehabilitated district and took pictures as well.

The President of Lithuania started the second day of her visit by a tour to the Museum of Occupation. She got familiarized with very important photo and documentary material concerning the history of the occupation and annexation of independent Georgia by Bolshevik Russia and of anti-occupational national-liberating movement. 

Dalia Grybauskaitė visited children's central hospital named after Iashvili, where Georgia fulfills a program of infant aid by the help of Lithuania and Japan.

Later she went to Mtskheta and visited Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.

The President of Lithuania went to the Airport from Mtskheta, where Mikheil Saakashvili and Dalia Grybauskaitė held a joint briefing. Leaders focused on the deepening relations and cooperation between the two countries. Dalia Grybauskaitė once again pointed out that she supports Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, also Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

The President of Lithuania finished her two-day official visit to Georgia today.
