The President of Georgia MikheilSaakashviliparticipated in the ceremony dedicated to the memory of Richard Holbrook that was held in Washington DC at Kennedy Center. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees David Rubenstein opened the event. He expressed his special gratitude to the President of Georgia MikheilSaakashvili and all guests, who were invited for the participation in the event.
The President of United States Barack Obama, the Vice President Joseph Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Washington's political and public elite, colleagues, close friends and family members of Richard Holbrook attended the event. Several world leaders and about twenty high-level delegations from various countries specially came to Washington DC to attend the ceremony.
The President of Georgia held several meetings with American Senators within the frames of the visit. MikheilSaakashvili met with the Republican Leader, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Richard Lugar and the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Armed Services Carl Levin.
