The President of Georgia made a speech at Paris Institute of Political Science. "Georgia is a laboratory of the democratic reforms on the post-soviet territory", Mikheil Saakashvili stated. "Despite the fact that the tanks of the aggressor country stand in 32 km from the capital of Georgia I have come here to pass to you the message of hope. European and Euro-Atlantic model has a great importance for Georgia. This model is the major driving force of social, economic and political transformation in Georgia. If the neighboring country gives us a chance to realize it, Georgia will be the best example of this model", Mikheil Saakashvili pointed out.
Mikheil Saakashvili spoke about the local elections of May 30 and noted that these elections proved our peoples' trust and support towards the reforms that were carried out. I want to underline that local elections of 2010 were extremely important. Since the Russian intervention these were the first elections in Georgia. These elections proved our peoples' trust and support towards the reforms that were carried out. This process was transparent and democratic. The best example of civility is that the runner up from the opposition party congratulated the winner", Mikheil Saakashvili stated.
