President Mikheil Saakashvili visited a free canteen for poor elderly men in Vake district, at Vazha Pshavela Avenue. The President talked and dined with the elderly men and stressed that the government should support poor, starving people. "Georgia is not a rich country, but it is quite possible to solve starvation problem once and for all, " the President said adding that a number of free canteens would increase and be opened not only in Tbilisi but in other regions as well.
