US First Lady visits American Academy and Book House

Meetings, envisioned by the program of the US First Lady, Lora Bush, were held today, May 10. At first, the First Lady, Sandra Roelofs, hosted Mrs. Bush. After that they visited the American Academy and its library where Lora Bush participated in a discussion of the papers on the "united field theory" and "what makes photography and art", prepared by the academy's students. Mrs. Bush also attended the discussion of the works of Robert Frost by the students in the ninth and eleventh grades and expressed her satisfaction with their preparation level and sophistication.

Lora Bush and Sandra Roelofs answered the questions asked by the students gathered in the academy hall. Mrs. Bush has mentioned that before coming to Georgia her husband and herself visited several countries, but the Georgian reception was absolutely exceptional. "George Bush is excited with Georgian people, with the cultural events held in the honor of the US President in old Tbilisi," Mrs. Bush said.

At the meeting Lora Bush discussed the US teenagers' problems, stressing that the best way to overcome the hardships associated with that age was reading and learning. Mrs. Lora also talked about the responsibilities and daily work of the first lady.

Minister of Education and Science, Kakha Lomaia, attended the meeting.

After visiting the US Academy Lora Bush and Sandra Roelofs visited the Book House and met with the wife of the late Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania, Nino Zhvania.

Lora Bush also met with the Georgian publisher.
