President Mikheil Saakashvili supported an initiative of an academician Pridon Todua that envisions granting Tskhinvali Region a unique medical equipment - computer tomography. President Saakashvili stressed that this diagnostic equipment will serve ethnic Ossetians, Georgians and people of other religion residing in the region.

"We welcome all the initiatives associated with the resolution of the conflict," President Saakashvili said adding that in support of Mr. Todua's initiative the Georgian government is ready to grant South Ossetia ambulances and new buses free of charge.

"Moreover, we are ready to carry out other humanitarian programs, in order to make life easier for the people residing in Tskhinvali region. We welcome not only government initiatives but also private ones. The more contacts we have and the more open we are to each other, the more warmth and humanity we display to each other the faster the wall of mistrust and animosity erected between us will crush" President Saakashvili said.
