President Mikheil Saakashvili and the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Alexander Lomaia, visited school # 87 on Ketevan Tsamebuli street to see the ongoing repair works there.
President Saakashvili said that by the end of his first presidential term all schools on the whole territory of Georgia will be repaired.
During a meeting with the teachers the President stressed that the government had fulfilled its promise to increase the salaries. "Not a single teacher will have a salary below the minimum wage. We are proud of it since we have fulfilled the promise of the revolution," the President said, adding that the schools will no longer be downsized, on the contrary, the vacancies will be created at schools.
President Saakashvili called on the businessmen to actively get involved in the schools reconstruction works.
