On December 29 President Mikheil Saakashvili met with the President of the Georgian Football Federation and football players at the State Chancellery to discuss existing problems in Georgian football. President Saakashvili promised to provide assistance to the Football Federation, stressing that he supports a healthy way of life. "Massive street sport is the main prerequisite for the revival of football. Our aim is to make achievements in several years and fill people's hearts with joy. I am fed up with seeing losses and football fans' disappointed faces," President Saakashvili said.
