The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited the 1st experimental school of Tbilisi together with the Minister of Education and Mayor of Tbilisi and congratulated the students with beginning of new academic year. This is that very school, where Mikheil Saakashvili entered the first class 33 years ago. The First Lady and little Nikoloz Saakashvili also visited the 1st school.
According to words of Mikheil Saakashvili " In 2008 all schools in Georgia will be like that as in USA, Germany, Czechia, Holland and Poland as our children deserve this. Each mother wants to give profound education to her child and we will manage to give this chance to each child" - said the President of Georgia.
Today Mikheil Saakashvili flew to Zugdidi too and visited the 1st Public School that was founded 140 years ago and congratulated the children with beginning of new academic year. The President of Georgia visited the newly repaired classrooms and opened the sport ground.
In speech Mikheil Saakashvili addressed the teachers that are working in Georgian schools of Abkhazia. "In some kilometers from here there are the schools where is forbidden the Georgian language teaching. I want to tell the Georgian people that have been remaining in Gali: children don't be afraid, study in Georgian language, as this occupation regime is temporary and soon will finish. You will need your language and culture in future. You should keep your history and try to learn it" - said the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili.
