President Saakashvili opens aquapark in Tbilisi

6/29/2007

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili today attended the opening of a newly built aquapark in Tbilisi's Nadzaladevi district. He noted that the leisure facility was built in a neighbourhood that had once been bombed out and destroyed.

"Prior to the Rose Revolution there were only two or three functioning swimming pools left in Georgia. Today there are several dozen. There are open and closed pools in Borjomi and Chiatura and similar pools will open in Ajaria and Tbilisi next year. Georgia is becoming a modern country, which makes me very happy. This is happening because investors are receiving great support. This applies to state businesses and private businesses and it is thanks to the lack of corruption," President Saakashvili said.
