The President of Georgia attended day of absolution at the Cathedral of Holy Trinity. Mikheil Saakashvili asked his supporters and the representatives of the opposition for mercy. "I want to ask the government as well as the opposition, I want to ask those people who support us, I want to ask those people who do not agree with us and argue with us, as the main duty of a Christian is to be able to absolve and permanently be seeking absolution. Only this way it is possible to get really united."

In his speech the President of Georgia paid special attention to the unity of the country. The President once again touched upon the necessity of the unity. He said: "We are only one step away from becoming NATO candidate, we are not far from restoring Georgia's territorial integrity and now unity is extremely important. It is unity of the government and the church, this is unity of the opposition and the government, this is unity of all our citizens regardless of their ethnicity" - Mikheil Saakashvili stated.

"In three weeks a decision will be made on NATO accession, we are very close to getting this status. That will be a starting point for joining the strongest political-military alliance in the history of the mankind" - the President of Georgia stated and added - "the day is close, when territorial integrity of Georgia will be restored in a peaceful way".
