The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited new facilities in Poti

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited the military training ongoing in Batumi Sea equatorial. The President of Georgia observed US frigate during the training.

The President of Georgia visited a timber producing factory "Georgian Forests". 100 million is invested in this factory from foreign sources and it is equipped with the modern German technologies. Foreign companies for furniture use the production of this factory. This production is exported to Germany, Italy, France and Portugal. There are jobs for about 600 people in "Georgian Forests".

Today later the President of Georgia visited Georgian-Ukrainian joint enterprise producing wheat and went to MIA service agency.

He also got reviewed Poti central railway station rehabilitation project. According to the project the building should have been made of glass, but the President made decision to maintain the original exterior of an old building.

Later he attended the opening ceremony of professional retraining center. This center will train appropriate personnel for free economic zone. The President of Georgia once again stated, that a free economic zone in Poti is a way to return Abkhazia.

"Today when there is no corruption and we do our best to control the process of letting cargo through the customs borders not to create problems and pay additional amounts of money. It was not the same way earlier - if you did not bribe, you could be kept for months with your production, then you would be asked more money by sanitary service and it was impossible to calculate it all. This is the difference between free economic zone, which is supported by the government and corrupt, old system. This is why you are needed, where your profession is useful and your profession is useful where there is freedom and no corruption", noted Mikheil Saakashvili.
