The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili attended the church service in Sameba cathedral today. In his Sunday preaching His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II called the Georgian population for peace and explained that today it's most important to share one another's opinion, express of mutual respect and maintaining peacefulness. The President of Georgia addressed the population as well and expressed his gratitude towards the Patriarch for the spiritual encouragement.

"Georgia is an extraordinary country, which passed a very difficult test to show the whole world how strong we are, to make our friends glad and our enemies disappointed. But the main examination is ahead. Our major aim is to restore Georgia's integrity and develop a strong society. I call up everyone for integrity and a dialogue. We believe that everyone will overcome personal ambitions and anger and will consider social welfare top priority. I believe that our society will place the welfare, freedom, unity, the future of their country and the victory of Georgia over its evil wishers, higher than anything else. We are ready to reach out our hands to everyone", stated the President of Georgia.

Mikheil Saakashvili agrees with the Patriarch that everyone should listen to one another, they may argue different issues, but they have to reach an agreement about the major problems finally.

The President once again noted that Georgia will do everything to accomplish the wall and ceiling paintings of the Sameba Cathedral as soon as possible, in order to give our spiritual father the possibility to pray for the welfare of the country and people in a more beautiful Cathedral.

His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II presented the President of Georgia with the medallion of the Virgin Mary.
