The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili congratulated Vakhtang Buba Kikabidze on his 70th anniversary and awarded him with the St George's Order.

An awarding ceremony took place in President's Chancellery. As the President of Georgia noted that in the period of massive deportations of Georgians from Russia, Buba Kikabidze, who has huge number of fans in Russia, expressed his firm position and it has to be appreciated, because many people think that, this was the problem of the politicians only.

The President of Georgia stated, that the interests and the population of Georgia need defense and Georgian people must do it. "Buba Kikabidze is the most replicable example of civilian bravery for me personally. He is a very talented person as well, at the same time is the highest expression of independency and freedom", stated the President of Georgia.

Mikheil Saakashvili said that Buba Kikabidze was awarded with the highest civilian award, with the St George's Order exactly for his work.

As the President of Georgia has mentioned, only few true friends of GEORGIA and President and several heroes, who devoted themselves, have this order. Buba Kikabidze is the first artist who receives this order.

The President of Georgia congratulated Nani Bregvadze with her birthday and passed over flower bouquet.

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili awarded an ambassador of Lithuania Richard Degutis with the Order of Honor

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili awarded an ambassador of Lithuania Richard Degutis with the Order of Honor. Mikheil Saakashvili said that Lithuania is the main friend of Georgia in European Union.

He said that in the period of existing challenges for Georgia, Lithuanians are fighting and will fight for Georgia.

"An attempt of annexation of part of Georgia is going on openly. This is an unacceptable challenge against international order, against international principles", noted Mikheil Saakashvili.

An Ambassador Richard Degutis wished success to Georgia - "The success of Georgia, is the success for Lithuania", noted an Ambassador.
