The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited Gori region, village Khurvaleti and attended the process of agricultural works. More than 10 000 pheasants in the conflict zone were given vouchers by the help of USAID and they received agricultural aid and production for free.
"The most important thing we need today is improvement of our genius. The problem is that we have old types of genius. Next year the number of tractors will practically be doubled. In every small or large village tractor service must be available. It is a very important first step, which we have promised to our villages and despite the world crisis and budget challenges, we will go to the end. It is very important for village, it is very important for the city. This way village production will become less expensive and will be exported on the world market", noted the President.
Besides this the President made a comment on Russian President's statement. Mikheil Saakashvili said that Russia declares open aggression and confrontation to the whole world.
"New Russian doctrine means legalization of huge confrontations with the democratic world. Yesterday's statement by President Medvedev has removed all doubts and questions, which I might have had about what else we could have done - although we have spared no efforts in this regard - to help avert the Russian aggression.
These people have chosen fierce confrontation and military rhetoric with the democratic states from the very beginning; they had this plan from the very beginning; Georgia, unfortunately, appeared on the forefront of this struggle - that is unfortunately our history and geography; we have stopped most of their attacks - they failed to destroy the Georgian states, but they have not given up military games and blackmailing of the entire world.
Something that I have been expecting is now happening. What has started openly in Georgia is now continuing in other directions, towards our friends and allies, so it is not only our struggle... It is very important for us, because the aggression is carried out against us.
This is a fight of the authoritarian forces against democracy and progress.
They will be defeated finally and the more their aggression increase, the more countries they threaten and install more missiles, it would be worse for them.
These are not just missiles, these are Iskander missiles - dozens of them were fired in direction of Georgia. The Soviet Union was just threatening, then installing missile systems, but eventually pulling them out; but they are installing and then also firing them and we have already seen it happening in Georgia. So if anyone has any illusions in Europe, they'd better open their eyes to see what a force they are dealing with and to see that Georgia was not just an isolated case and an exception", Mikheil Saakashvili stated.
