The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited poor indigent family

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited an old couple living beyond the poverty edge today. The President updated Ioseb Tsotniashvili and his spouse about changes in the project of the state assistance and about the decision to double the pension and the assistance money. The President promised the old couple that their social conditions would be improved in the nearest future because there is much money put in the budget to cover these social needs. Mikheil Saakashvili summed up their expenses as well.

"236 GEL of course is not enough for two people to live well. But I know that if our country gets additional money, this will be spent on people like you first of all. Your have performed great services for your homeland to live without problems", stated the President of Georgia.

Mikheil Saakashvili spoke to the host family about the economic crisis and promised them that despite the tough conditions, pensions will be issued without delay.

"I know that the pensions are very low, but we will do everything not to create any problems concerning food and medication for each of you:, stated Mikheil Saakashvili.
