The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited Igoeti-Sveneti road to observe the working process of Tbilisi-Senaki highway.

"Last year, when Russians intruded Georgia I was worried that we weren't able to finish Tbilisi-Tskhinvali highway project. This road was very critical for our population, but they haven't let us to finish it. 35 thousand people lived in the regions under our control, now there are only 15-16 thousand left. This road was very critical for them, because it was the only communication's line between Tbilisi. But still the most important thing is that they weren't able to terminate the constriction of this road, as well as many other constructions. The only thing they managed to build is this ugly new Berlin wall. The construction of the road to Senaki continues still. Many projects are executed in Batumi, Borjomi, Racha atc.

I want to add that highway will open for the anniversary of Revolution. We are fulfilling our plan four months prior. We still have to do many things and this is why we need to be in hurry. By the end of August two side highway must start functioning. Most of car accidents happened at this territory, from now on this problems will significantly change. Positive side is that the distance will be reduced two times and it will be less tense. I think these are very serious and grand projects. For example in Javakheti the road will solve economic and political problems at the same time, also in Batumi and Kakheti - Gombori road will resolve many problems.

Now we are starting modernization of railway, this way we will get to Batumi three hours earlier. This project will start this Fallor upcoming spring.

So it came out that after Russian aggression Georgian state not only has not collapsed but we are executing our plans even in faster tempo. Of course this road will finally lead us to Sokhumi, Tskhinvali population will be able to come to Tbilisi through this road themselves - this road is not envisaged for Russian tanks. We will continue our job to the end and finally reach the logical point. I think we have managed to avoid one more aggression. We will continue development of Georgia and will surprise the world by our achievemnets", stated the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili.
