The President of Georgia honored the memory of the heroes fallen as a result of Russian aggression

 

 

The President of Georgia visited the Mukhatgverdi Brothers’ Cemetery and honored the memory of the heroes fallen as a result of Russian aggression. The Commander in Chief of the country’s armed forces decorated the memorial of heroes fallen as a result of Russian aggression with flowers, along with the Cacholicos Patriarch of all Georgia.

Mikheil Saakashvili was accompanied at the Mukhatgverdi Brothers’ Cemetery by the First Lady of Georgia Sandra Elizabeth Roelofs, who met with the families of fallen warriors and wished them integrity and long life.

The Minister of Defense, the Head of the General Staff and other officials of the Ministry of Defense attended the official ceremony.

Georgia lost 169 soldiers, 16 policemen and 188 civilians as a result of Russian aggression in 2008.
