The President of Georgia opened Ilia Lake in Kvareli

The President of Georgia participated in the ceremonial opening of Ilia Lake in Kvareli today and addressed the audience. During his address, Mikheil Saakashvili drew attention to the projects which are currently being implemented in the entire country. He stressed that next year the rebuilding process will reach an incredible scale around the entire region and a lot of such infrastructural projects and tourist complexes will be built. Next year will be the year of beginning of the new stage for the Kakheti region. According to the President, this is not only an opportunity for a pleasant rest but a source of a new income as well.

“The Genetic code of the statehood of Georgia is created here, in the Alazani Valley, along with our alphabet and our vineyard; a relatively protected territory from our enemies and especially productive land, by extraordinarily hard-working and patriotic people. Kakheti has always stood by all of Georgia and that is why the rest of Georgia should come to help out Kakheti now, to rebuild it, and to create a harvest for every Kakhetian” – stated the President of Georgia.

The Head of State also decorated the founder of L.T.D “Viniveria” – Giorgi Piradashvili with the Presidential Order of Excellence for popularization of Georgian wine and his personal contribution in the process of developing the tourist infrastructure in the country. Mikheil Saakashvili also thanked all people who have participated in the process of implementing the new projects. According to Mikheil Saakashvili, each one of them deserves the award.

The President of Georgia noted that Giorgi Piradashvili founded his wine business after the Russian embargo and despite the embargo, he created the best distribution network in new countries, reached new markets and a company started from a scratch that has now become very popular in around the world.

A resort complex is built around Ilia Lake has a renewed infrastructure, a well-accommodated shore, a café-restaurant, an observing tower, and an outdoor theatre as well as a bicycle lane.
